Supergirl, as portrayed on The CW television series, is Kara Zor-El, a Kryptonian refugee who arrived on Earth after her planet's destruction. She is Superman's cousin and possesses similar powers, including super strength, flight, heat vision, and freeze breath.

She was sent to Earth to protect her infant cousin, Kal-El, but her pod was knocked off course, trapping her in the Phantom Zone for years. Arriving on Earth years after Superman was already established, she was taken in by the Danvers family and learned to control her powers.

Kara initially struggled to find her place, but eventually embraced her heroic destiny, adopting the identity of Supergirl to protect National City. Her first appearance was in the TV Show, Supergirl in 2015. She works alongside the DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations) and various allies to combat threats both earthly and extraterrestrial.
